Choral Union, University Singers and the MU Philharmonic Orchestra welcome you to experience the beauty of Gabriel Fauré’s beloved REQUIEM while simultaneously remembering what we have lost during the pandemic. We also recognize the hope and potential within our communities through Ernst Bloch’s optimistic and energetic AVODATH HAKODESH (SACRED SERVICE), movements two and three. Bloch, who fled Germany during World War II, experienced severe difficulties but understood the importance and value of people—regardless of nationality or religion—working together in unity to overcome hardship.
